Hidden stories are escaping from the folds of Wyoming's Big Horn Mountains. Dave Munsick is writing and singing them inside songs that he has unlocked from within the land, lore and lives of the west. Dave has written scores of songs, produced 5 cds of original music, and written and recorded themes for historical documentaries as well as compositions for the government, commercial and private sectors. In addition to writing and recording, he performs with several bands and has opened for or performed on fiddle, piano, and guitar for artists including Chris LeDoux, Hank Thompson, Ian Tyson, Charlie Daniels and Suzie Bogguss. He gives song writing workshops, arranges songs for his concerts and dances, and has had his music played on television as well as U.S. and European radio stations. Dave has also been reviewed by Western Horseman, Rope Burns, and Cowboy magazines.
The Powder River Boys Band
There is a special kind of river that flows out of the Big Horn Mountains of Wyoming. Like other rivers, it has been running for a long time and, also like other rivers, it's water seems to have a life of its own. The difference is that this river is a dance band and it's water is pure energy.
The Powder River Boys embody the feel of the west the same way that the old Powder River itself. They have played with or opened for western legends such as Chris Ledoux, Hank Thompson, Suzie Bogguss, and Ian Tyson, and have left their mark deep and wide after years of running their own brand of western dance music across the country.
Singer-songwriter Dave Munsick is joined by his Wyoming, Idaho and Montana partners in creating a sound that is both unique and familiar. As Ian Tyson puts it, "Dave Munsick is a damned fine fiddle player, a pretty good songwriter, and he's good to his dog". With that kind of an endorsement, you can't go wrong in taking a chance to ride on down and "let her buck".
The Munsick Boys Band

The band consists of Dave on fiddle and guitar, Tris on dobro and guitar, Sam on bass and guitar, and Ian on mandoline, guitar and other side fill instruments. Their choice of compositions is uniquely western and their sound tends to communicate the western values of the family and the land as well as the universal themes that inhabit everyone; life and love. Each member of the band is an accomplished writer and they have all recorded their original compositions in the past. The exciting news is that popular demand has pushed them into making their first cd together and you can look for it here soon.
